Fairway, KS  July 15, 2005 -- David Gregory, Inc, the people who offer creative custom invitation design and gifts, have introduced GifToppers Enclosure Greeting Cards an incredibly unique and novel concept in cards designed for gift giving occasions that will help ensure gifts are recognized and appreciated.

Anyone who gives gifts can benefit from this new and ingenious way to express a sentiment and identify their gift.  With GifToppers cards you can:

  • loop them around the neck of wines and other bottled gifts.
  • snip the loop to fit around the handle of a gift bag or basket.
  • tie them with a ribbon to a gift or present.
  • personalize the card with a monogram, name(s) or corporate logo.
  • customize the card to create a unique and memorable design.
  • GifToppers cards are easy to use and their unique and exclusive design creates gifts that are remembered long after the gift is given. The cards are available exclusively at David Gregory, Inc., for $19.95 per dozen. Additional options such as personalization, customization or embellishment are available for an extra $5 per dozen per option.

“A couple of summers ago, I was working on developing new concepts for invitations for the upcoming holiday entertaining season with my business partner David Denefrio,” says Greg Wilson, co-owner of David Gregory. “During this process, we started talking about the number of times we had taken a bottle of wine or other hostess gift to a party or received similar items at functions we had hosted. When the host/hostess greets you at the door, we wondered how often our gifts were recognized or remembered the next day.”

Building on that conversation, they started brainstorming and came up with the idea of creating a form of enclosure card which could be personalized, easily attached to various gifts, and still be easily closed to protect the privacy of the sentiment written inside. From this concept, they created a card that could be easily draped over the neck of a bottle, tied to a gift, or looped around the handle of a gift bag or gift basket.

Over the course of several months during that holiday season they worked with their customers to develop and refine the concept. “We were amazed by the creativity and variety of ways in which our customers wanted to use our cards,” says Wilson. “We’ve developed personalized cards for customers to tie onto cello-wrapped fudge and candies, to tie onto wrapped holiday gifts for employees, and personalized with corporate logos or business card details for corporate gifts of appreciation. And, several of the styles for new homes have been a big hit with real estate agents who give closing gifts or referral gifts.”

Co-owner David Denefrio, remarked “much of what we had been discussing reflected the values of my grandmother, Giovannina Antenucci.  Born and raised in southern Italy, she and her family immigrated to the US when she was in her late teens.  Her spirit of determination and independence went hand in hand with her romantic nature, classic elegance and values of family.  Cooking and entertaining family was an important part of her life, both in Italy and in her new home in the US.  Showing heartfelt appreciation and gratitude was never expected but always appreciated.  Her legacy has been passed down through her son, my dad, and has served as the inspiration for the quality, care and unique character of each of the hand made enclosure cards we’ve designed.”

Wilson continued, saying “anyone can use these cards to convey a sense of gratitude and appreciation for being included in the extended family of those inviting you to share with them in the joys of entertaining, dinner, conversation or other milestone events in life.”

“Each card in our ‘GifToppers’ collection is made in our store in Fairway, Kansas, and reflects an emphasis on quality, beauty and gratitude; valuable lessons passed down through the generations from Giovannina Antenucci, my wonderful grandmother,” says Denefrio.  “We hope that the wide variety of our continually expanding ‘GifToppers’ collection will help bring out the individual creative expression within you.”

"When people give (or even receive) a gift, they may not realize the power of the presentation," says Wilson.  "But it's something we focus on everyday as we create custom invitations and products that help our customers connect, communicate and celebrate various life events.  GifToppers enclosure greeting cards were designed with that philosophy in mind.”
